Event : Blood Donation Camp

Intended for the service of humanity on the great occasion of Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathiyar’s 129th birthday (11th December 2011) blood donation camp was organized by Pasumai Nallur at Nallurpalayam, in collaboration with Tiruppur government hospital and Muyarchi People's Trust.
The programme started with a formal welcome by
the Pasumai Nallur members to all the delegates, donors, and friends of Pasumai
Nallur. The camp was inaugurated by Thiru
N.S.Palanisamy (Ex.M.L.A). Further, Thiru Sundaramoorthy (Founder of Sindhanai
Sirpigal), Thiru Vijayakumar (Tamilosai Pathippagam), Thiru Palanisamy (Vikatan, Palladam
area reporter), Kongumen magazine publisher and representatives from National
Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Tiruppur were also present on this special event.
We are thankful to
the Blood Bank for agreeing to come forward to
support our event. The doctors and the staff of the blood bank extended their
fullest cooperation to make the camp a success. All participants were
initially given awareness about the significance of blood donation and day to
day requirements of human blood of various groups.
As many as 50 donors were actively participated in the camp and 52 units of blood were collected. After the successful blood donation, all the donors were provided with refreshments. The donor’s contribution was appreciated and acknowledged by distributing tree sapling and eco-friendly cotton bags to them for their humanity towards society. For many donors, it was the first experience of donating blood, so a sense of satisfaction was clearly visible as they were contributing towards a noble cause.
